A French schoolgirl admitted to lying and making up the story about her teacher Samuel Paty, who later got beheaded following her accusation.
The student’s confession indicated that the 13-year-old student with a fake story led her father to start a hate campaign against Samuel Paty by filing a complaint and sharing posts against the teacher on his Facebook.
The girl has recently confirmed that she lied to please her father as he already shared the story on social media and she didn’t want to disappoint her parents by telling the truth.
According to Euronews initials police investigations reveal had revealed in November that the girl on that day was absent due to illness during the course on October 6, 2020, she wasn’t even in the class at which the teacher was alleged to have shown a caricature of Prophet Muhammad.
The unidentified girl had reportedly claimed that her teacher Samuel Paty had asked Muslim students to leave the class before he showed an improper caricature of the Prophet Mohammad to the children in the class on a free speech, BBC reported
Her claim led to an outrage among Muslims and the teacher started receiving death threats, soon after within 10 days, Samuel was beheaded by a teenager 18-year-old Abdullah Anzorov, who later was shot dead by the police.
The girl’s lawyer, Mbeko Tabula told AFP that the girl confirmed she was off on the day and did not attend her class at the Conflans-Sainte-Honorine school in the west of Paris.
“She lied because she felt trapped in a spiral because her classmates had asked her to be a spokesperson,” AFP quoted Tabula.
French daily newspaper Le Parisien reported that the girl wanted to prevent her father from knowing that she had been suspended for failing to attend the lessons.

“She would not have dared to confess to her father the real reasons for her exclusion shortly before the tragedy, which was in fact linked to her bad behavior,” according to Le Parisien, the teenage girl was suspended due to her objection but not it appears that she was suspended the day before the class was given, BBC sourced the report to Le Parisien.
The angry father started the campaign, even posting videos online detailing about Samuel Paty, and also filed complain and took the matter to school chiefs accusing the teacher of promoting Islamophobia.
After his online videos went viral outrage was triggered among the Muslims until Samuel was killed.
The girl has reportedly been charged with slander and her father was arrested for being “complicit in a terrorist killing”, along with a preacher, BBC reported.
Depiction of Prophet Muhammad in a picture is forbidden in the religion of Islam and it is considered blasphemous if Prophet Mohammad is insulted.
