France and England have agreed to prevent the illegal entry of migrants to England through the English Channel (Canal de la Mancha), for which England will have to pay France $577 million in three years.

As part of a new agreement, the United Kingdom will pay for the expenses of a detention center in France, and Paris will deploy more human forces and advanced technology to patrol its shores.

Meanwhile, both French and English officers will seek to cooperate with their countries that are on routes of smugglers and human traffickers.

A British official says that London will have to pay €30 to France to cover the financial expense of the detention center in the next three years.

The official further added that detained migrants would be deported to their home countries, and if their countries are not safe due to war and political unrest, they will be returned to the last destination they have crossed on their way to the UK.

The agreement was achieved between British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron, during Sunak’s official visit to Paris.

Rishi Sunak has set the prevention of illegal migrants to the United Kingdom as one of the priorities of his government. In February, he reached new agreements with Brussels on the matters of Northern Ireland.

Britain’s Prime Minister has recently introduced a new law that immediately rejects the asylum application of those migrants who illegally enter to the United Kingdom through small boats. For the successful implementation of this plan, Rishi Sunak will need the cooperation of France to prevent the passage of refugees from Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, and other countries who want to enter the UK through the English Channel.
