According to local authorities in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan several Afghan civilians were killed or injured and dozens of houses were damaged following flash floods in this province.
Provincial publi health chief Dr. Abdul Qayoum Pakhla confirming the report said at least 6 people wincluding 4 women ere killed and 8 others were injured following the flash floods.
Dr. Abdul Qayoum further added more than 30 residential houses were also damaged.
This comes as several people were killed or injured following flash floods in eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan earlier.
Flash floods in southern Kandahar city started on Monday night due to heavy rains, local officials said adding that there area fears of more casualties.
Kandahar province located in southern Afghanistan is one of the tropical regions in the south which normally witnesses heavy rains.
Majority of the residents of southern Kandahar province are involved in agriculture works where large fields of Pomegranate, Waterelon and Grapes are located.
