Foreign media have reported a fire in a residential building in Kuwait, resulting in at least 41 workers losing their lives.

According to Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, the fire occurred on Wednesday, June 12, in a building in the Al-Mangaf area, a densely populated region where foreign workers resided.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has confirmed injuries to dozens of workers, but there is no information available regarding the identities and nationalities of the deceased and injured.

Al Jazeera also reports that Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, the Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait, has ordered the detention of the building owner during his visit to the site and stated, “Unfortunately, it is the greed of property owners and real estate investors that leads to such incidents.”

It is noteworthy that the fire has been contained, and investigations have commenced.

The French news agency reports that the building where the fire occurred was used to accommodate workers, and a large number of workers were present there.
