Finland joined France’s declaration supporting a two-state solution, calling peace “essential and achievable,” as signatories urged a ceasefire, hostage releases, and unhindered humanitarian aid to Gaza amid worsening hunger.

Finland has joined France’s declaration backing a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen confirmed on Wednesday.

Valtonen said peace in the Middle East is “essential and achievable,” urging collective global efforts to make it a reality.

Writing on X, she referenced ongoing United Nations meetings in New York, noting that “a few steps toward the right direction were taken last UN Summit.”

The joint declaration commits signatories to advancing a two-state framework, demanding an immediate ceasefire, release of hostages, and unrestricted humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza.

It also underscores the Palestinian Authority’s commitment to disarm and demilitarize Hamas as part of the pathway toward lasting peace.

In parallel, two Australians detained after their humanitarian aid vessel was seized off Gaza have been released, reflecting the tensions around aid operations in the region.

The Gaza Health Ministry warned hunger remains deadly, reporting 151 deaths from starvation, including 89 children, as the humanitarian crisis deepens amid ongoing conflict.
