Film star Aamir Khan’s roots can be traced to Afghanistan

Born in 1965 in Bandra’s Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai, India in a Muslim family, Aamir Khan is a descendant of Maulana Abdul kalam Azad.
His family has been actively involved in the Indian motion picture industry for several decades. Aamir Khan’s father , Tahir Hussain, is a film producer while his deceased uncle, Nasir Hussain, was a film producer as well as a director, The Times of India reported.
Khan is also a descendant of former President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain and a second cousin to former Chairperson of Rajya Sabha, Dr Najma Heptullah.
Other stars, producers and directors with roots from Afghanistan in Indian cinema includes Madhubala, born in New Delhi, India on 14 February 1933.
According to the sources, Madhubala was the fifth child among eleven children of a conservative Muslim couple. Her family was a Nawabi family from Kabul, Afghanistan, and a branch of the royal dynasty of Mohammadzai (also called Barakzay). Her grandparents were exiled by Afghanistan’s army to India.
Film star Fereoz Khan’s root also can be traced from eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan. Their father was Sediq Ali Khan Tanoli, and their mother was of Persian ancestry. They settled in Bangalore, where the Khan brothers were born.
Other actors include Amjad Khan (71) – born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, his parents were from Ghazni, Afghanistan.
