Afghan President Ashraf Ghani during his speech in an exclusive gathering of the national council-Parliament, Senate- said that the ongoing war is an external intrigue imposed on the people of Afghanistan and security forces are capable of repelling it.

The Afghan president said that he is predicting both opportunities and dangers but reiterated that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have the ability to be solidified and return to the desired stance in the upcoming six months.

“I am realistic and am not living in past. I feel my responsibility is that now is not the time of blaming each other but is the time for unity. Let the Afghan men and women decide about the past, my concentration is on national unity.” Said Ashraf Ghani.

The Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid reacted to the remarks of the Afghan president and accused the Ghani of lying and spreading false information.

The tweet post of Mujahid further reads that his (Ashraf Ghani) time is over and the announcement of warfare will not survive him.

Ghani too claimed to have sacrificed too much for durable and just peace in Afghanistan and added to have made unprecedented decisions for the cause.

He praised the families of those who have lost their loved ones in fighting the Taliban and expressed pride of being commander-in-chief of ANDSF in such a historic period.

The warring sides in Afghanistan apparently challenge each other as conflict is going on in over ten provinces which have left over three hundred thousand people displaced.
