Tuesday, December 20, 2011 – According to local authorities in eastern Nangarhar province, at least three Afghan children were killed and injured following an explosive device explosion.

The incident took place in Khogyani district of eastern Nangahar province on Monday evening.

Khogyani district chief Haji Mohammad Hassan confirming the incident said, the explosion took place around 6 pm local time after an explosive device went off in the area.

Mr. Hassan further added, at least one child was killed and two others were injured following the incident.

He also said, at least one of the wounded child is in a critical condition and the one is in a better condition and both are under treatment in district health clinic.

This comes as in a separate explosion as a result of war explosives remains killed and injured at least 7 Afghan children in Behsud district of eastern Nangarhar province.
