According to local authorities in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, at least 12 civilians were killed or injured following a roadside bomb explosion in this province.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning in Arghandab district after a civilian vehicle struck with a roadside bomb.
Provincial security chief Gen. Abdul Razaq confirming the report said at least 9 civilians were killed and 3 others were injured following the blast.
Gen. Razaq further added the victims include 8 women and a man who belong to the same famkly.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Local officials blame Taliban group for the incident as Taliban fighters frequently use improvised explosive device as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces which normally lead to civilian casualties.
