Explosion kill 8 members of a family in Laghman province

AfghanistanAccording to local authorities in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan, at least eight people were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in this province on Monday morning.

Provincial govenor spokesman Sarhadi Zwak confirming the report said all those killed in today’s incident were civlians.

Mr. Zwak further added the incident took place after a vehicle struck with a roadside bomb in the central city of Laghman province.

He said the victims including women and children were members of the single family.

No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

Local officials blame Taliban group for the incident as Taliban fighters frequently use improvised explosive device (IED) as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and coalition security forces which normally lead to civilian casualties.
