Sayed Mohammad Sadat, head of NDS prosecutors’ office along with three others were reportedly killed in an explosion near the provincial Police HQ in Lashkargah city of Helmand Province.
Helmand police spokesman Mohammad Zaman Hamdard confirmed the incident to the media but did not provide further details.
On the other hand, a number of media outlets reported that the explosion took place near the Helmand Police headquarters.
According to reports eight people including a woman were also injured in the attack.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
This comes as Hashim Hamdard, a tribal elder was killed in an IED blast in the Jangal Bagh area in PD7 of Jalalabad city in Nangarhar province.
The incident happened at around 7:00 am on Saturday morning, local officials told the media.
