The Taliban government security authorities said that the explosion that took place in the Police District 4 of Kabul, the Afghan capital, resulted in 2 fatalities.
According to Khalid Zadran, the spokesman for the Taliban government’s Kabul police chief, the Monday explosion of November 21, targeted a Corolla-type car, which caught fire in the Parwan 3 area of Kabul’s PD4.
He also stated that investigating teams had reached the site to learn and investigate the details of the explosion, while the identities of the two explosion victims have yet to be determined.
Local sources in Kabul province reported the occurrence of an explosion in police district 4 on Monday night at around 7:40.
Abdul Nafi Takor, a Taliban Ministry of Interior Affairs spokesman, however, disputed the occurrence of the explosion shortly after it occurred.
The Kabul Security Command acknowledged the explosion after the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Affairs dismissed the explosion reports.
No group or organization has taken the responsibility for the explosion in Kabul, while the Taliban investigating teams are looking into the case.
The blasts and high crime rate in Kabul and other Afghan provinces undermine the Taliban’s claims that security is being maintained throughout the country.
