Explosion heard in Kabul city, 6 people reported injured

An explosion rocked capital Kabul on Monday. The incident took place in Dasht-e-Barchi area at western part of capital Kabul.

According to preliminary reports the incident took place after an explosive (hand grenade) was thrown at Naqash stop near a market in Dasht-e-Barchi area.

At least six people have reportedly been injured following the incident.

In the meantime Kabul security chief Gen. Ayoub Salangi said at least 3 people were injured following a grenade attack in a market at Dasht-e-Barchi area in western Kabul city.

He said one of the injured individual was in a critical condition and the main motive behind the attack was yet not clear.

Shah Qalandar market belongs to Syed Farooq who was murdered by unknown men near his house around a month ago. He was an Afghan merchant involved in trade and land business.

According to reports a number of suspected individuals were arrested in connection to the murder of Syed Farooq and are in custody with the Afghan security forces.

Eyewitnesses and local reisdents in the area said the grenade attack might have connections with the murder of Syed Farooq since he had some personal issues with the unknown individual who had murdered him.
