An explosion was heard in the vicinity of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area of Kabul city earlier tonight, a day after the city witnessed back to back suicide attacks involving Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED).
Preliminary reports suggest the blast has taken place in the vicinity of 10th street of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area after a magnetic bomb was detonated.
According to the security officials, the blast did not incur any casualties to the civilians.
This comes as at least one civilian was killed and nearly 30 others were wounded after a powerful explosion rocked Kabul city on Monday night.
The incident took place after a suicide bomber detonated mini-truck packed with explosives near airport in Hawashinasi area of the city, the same place where a suicide bomber detonated a car bomb earlier on Monday.
The first blast took place shortly after a large gathering welcomed the national football team but only the suicide bomber was killed.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant during the recent days as efforts have been put in place to resolve the ongoing insurgency by the Taliban through reconciliation process.
The security officials believe the Taliban militants have stepped up insurgency activities across the country, including capital Kabul in a bid to achieve privilege in peace talks.
