
European Commissioner for Crisis Management Jenez Lenarcic on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, said that the European Union has delivered 34 tonnes of food and medical supplies to Afghanistan in a bid to help medicated the Afghan humanitarian crisis.
Jenez Lenacic in a Twitter post said that the Air Brigade landed at Kabul International Airport on Wednesday and the assistance will soon be distributed to people in need.
“Today, another Humanitarian Air Brigade landed in Kabul, carrying 34 tonnes of nutritional items and medical supplies.” Reads the Tweet.
As per the European Commissioner that was the 15th air brigade operation carried out since August 2021 which is a sign of the European Union’s continued commitment to support the Afghan people in these challenging times.
It comes as the Netherlands has also allocated EUR 20 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is still the worst humanitarian crisis on earth with over 24 million needing life-saving assistance while 95 percent of the people are under the poverty line.
