
An Ethiopian Airlines plane has crashed shortly after the take from Addis Ababa airport, the officials in Ethiopia have confirmed.
The Boeing 737 passenger jet was reportedly carrying 149 passengers and 8 crew members when it crashed on the way to Nairobi the capital city of Kenya.
A spokesperson of Ethiopian Airlines has confirmed that the plane crashed at 8:44 am local time, shortly after the take-off from Addis Ababa.
There are no reports available regarding the fate of passengers but the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in a Twitter post has offered his “deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones.”
