The acting minister of Defense Asadullah Khalid says the enemies have failed in their attempt to launch a new offensive, hailing the Afghan armed forces for suppressing the anti-government armed elements.
“Thank God, the enemy tried to start a new offensive and couldn’t even move an inch forward. This credit goes to you, the Afghan Forces,” Khalid said in his speech during the change of leadership in Special Operations Corps of the Afghan military.
Khalid further added “We’re not alone, we have God on our side. We have the people on our side. We have the international community on our side.”
Major General Mohammad Farid Ahmadi formally assumed charge of the Special Operations Corps of the Afghan military in the rank of Lieutenant General.
In other parts of his speech, Khalid said “I’m asking LTG Farid to keep the upmost consideration to the soldiers. To their training and to their care. To the care of their families.”
