The Afghanistan Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) fined presidential candidates Zalmai Rassoul and Gul Agha Sherzai for violating the election law.
Abdul Satar Sadat, Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) chief said Tuesday the two candidates violated the election law during election campaigns.
Mr. Sadat further added that Zalmai Rassouil forced Kandahar residents to attend an election campaign and misused the government facilities.
He said the other presidential candidate Gul Agha Sherzai insulted a candidate during his campaign, and has been fined 100,000 Afghanis.
According to Sadat, Zalmai Rassoul has also been fined 100,000 Afghanis for forcing Kandahar residents to attend his campaign and he was fined an additional 100,000 for misusing the government facilities.
Sadat also added that other presidential candidates, Abdullah Abdullah, Abdul Rab Rasoul Sayaf Qotbuddin Helal and Daud Sultanzoi had also violated the election law.
