Amrullah Saleh, First Vice President, said in a Facebook post, that long-overdue Ghazni parliamentary elections, provincial council elections, district council elections, and municipal elections will be held in the upcoming summer.
Reports indicate, that Saleh was tasked for the constituency of provincial council elections.
Saleh added, that we wish that all of these elections be held, but due to logistical issues, if we can’t hold all of them, we will definitely hold one or two of these elections.
“My second task is to coordinate with international organizations and institutions, especially the United Nations, to find out what lessons they have learned from previous elections, and what types of supports can they provide in the upcoming elections,” Saleh said in his post.
On the other hand, Amrullah Saleh once again called for the execution of Taliban fighters who are being held by the government.
He said that an analysis of citizens’ opinions over the news of the Taliban execution in the domestic and foreign media indicates that 85% of Afghans support the demand for the captured Taliban detainees to be executed.
According to him, 15% of those who oppose this request, most of them have fake identities in the media and are masked figures.
Earlier on Monday, Saleh demanded that captured Taliban detainees be executed for the crimes they have committed.
