
An earthquake of 4.0 Magnitude jolted the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan on Friday morning.
An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred at around 1:45 am local time with a depth of 14 Km, the Indian National Center for Seismology reported on Friday.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4., Occurred on 09-06-2023, 10:45 am local time, lat: 36.55 N/71.26E, Depth 14 km, location: Wurduj, Badakhshan, Afghanistan.”
On Sunday, a similar earthquake of 4.6 magnitude rocked Faizabad capital city of Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.6, Occurred on 04-06-2023, 09:05:32 local time, Lat: 36.71 & Long: 72.96, Depth: 150 Km, Location: 218km E of Fayzabad.”
Within a week, three earthquakes occurred in the province ranging from 4 to 5.2 magnitude of the earthquake.
So far, no causalities have been reported from the region.
Badakhshan province is most vulnerable to natural disasters, including earthquakes, landslides, avalanches, and floods.
This has increased concern among the local people, particularly Faizabad capital city of Badakhshan province.
Due to a lack of management and natural disaster response, the region has been most vulnerable to earthquakes.
