drone crash in AfghanistanAn unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed in central Bamyan province of Afghanistan on Wednesday, the local officials said.

Shebar district chief, Mohammad Farid, confirmed that unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed in near Pai Mori village around 2:00 pm local time.

Mr. Farid further added that the area was cordoned off due to the fears of explosion as the drone was reported to be armed during the crash.

He said the drone reportedly crashed in a mountain and it was not clear if the drone was searching for any target in Bamyan province.

He also added that the drone was totally damaged following the crash and only parts of it were left in the incident area.

Bamyan is among the peaceful provinces in central Afghanistan where insurgent groups do not operate in any of its districts.
