Deadly roadside bomb explosion targets wedding guests in East of Afghanistan

A deadly explosion ripped through a vehicle carrying wedding guests in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The Provincial Government Media Office in a statement said a roadside bomb explosion targeted a vehicle in Wazir area of Khogyai district.

The statement further added that the explosion killed 9 civilians including 6 women and 3 children.

Furthermore, the Nangarhar Governor’s Office said the explosion also wounded 5 civilians including a woman and 2 children.

The Governor’s Office also added that the civilians were on their way to participate in a wedding ceremony when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb.

No individual or group including Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion.
