A Daesh affiliated member who is accused of being the mastermind behind deadly attacks in Nangarhar was arrested during an ANDSF operation.
Security officials told the media, that they arrested a Daesh IS-K in Jalalabad city on Saturday night.
National security officials say they arrested the terrorist in Jalalabad last night.
According to reports the identity of the Daesh mastermind has not been revealed, but he has reportedly been in charge of the financial resources to the group and was also involved in planning attacks in the region.
The Daesh member was arrested when he was planning new offensives in Nangarhar province, reports indicated.
Deash militants in Afghanistan have not yet commented over the incident.

Abdul Hadi Pashaiwal, the group’s self-proclaimed governor to Laghman province (Afghanistan) was gunned down close to his house in Bakhshy Pul Area in the northwestern city of Peshawar on Saturday.
Pajhwok News reported he came under attack on his return from the Mardan district where he had gone to offer condolences on the death of a family member.
According to the Daily times, there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack but Taliban militants suspect Daesh militants to be involved in this murder.
This is the second Taliban key leadership member who was assassinated in Pakistan, earlier in January Mullah Abdul Samad Tor, a Taliban commander was sprayed with bullets in the Muslim city area of Peshawar.
He was attacked while offering morning prayers at a mosque near the provincial capital.
