A group of four professional robbers were arrested in different parts of Kabul for armed robbery, murder, and wounding the public, the interior ministry said.

MoI stated that a gang of four-member and skilled robbers were arrested in different parts of Kabul for armed robbery, murder, and public chaos, the group was under police surveillance.

He added that in addition to the stolen vehicle, two handguns were also recovered.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) made the remarks at a time when Kabul has witnessed a number of robberies, killings, and criminal incidents recently.

In a separate incident, the ministry said that eight people have been arrested for selling drugs in several provinces of the country.

According to the press release, anti-narcotics police conducted several separate operations in Herat, Kunduz, Paktia, Zabul, Daikund, and Laghman provinces.

Smuggling of weapons and narcotics into the country have been prevented in recent months, with three drug traffickers arrested at Hamid Karzai Airport on Wednesday.

Last month, two arm dealers were detained in Nangarhar and two individuals involved in drug smuggling were captured at Hamid Karzai International Airport.

Meanwhile, MoI reports on the arrest of a man who identified himself as head of the fight against crime department of PD13.

Ferdows Faramarz, a spokesman for the Kabul Police Command, told the media that the man was arrested on Wednesday night by the police in the area.

Faramarz says that this person is called “Shoaib” and is nicknamed “Commando”.

The detainee had entered a house a few days ago under the pretext of an attempt to steal 50,000 afghanis, Faramarz added.

Kabul residents are complaining about insecurity, crime, drug trafficking, and kidnapping, as Amrullah Saleh vows to reduce criminal activities in the country, specifically in Kabul city.
