The U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged that the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) could kill 100,000 people in the United States.
Speaking during an evening news conference on Sunday, President Trump said he received the ‘most accurate’ study about the potential deaths from COVID-19.
Without elaborating further, Trump said there could be up more than 2 million cases if ‘we did nothing’.
This comes as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the America’s top infectious disease expert, had earlier said that the COVID-19 disease could kill 100,000 or more Americans.
Dr. Fauci made the remarks during his speech at the ‘State of the Union’ program on CNN earlier on Sunday.
President also added that he had decided to extend the nationwide social distancing guidelines for another 30 days to April 30.
