Coordinated suicide blasts kill dozens in western Afghanistan

According to local authorities in western Nimroz province of Afghanistan, dozens of people were killed or injured following coordinated suicide bomb blasts in this province.

Provincial security chief Mosa Rasuli confirming the report said at least 30 people were killed and nearly 60 others were injured following 3 suicide bomb blasts in this province.

A number of Afghan police forces including a district police chief of Zaranj city is also among those killed following the blast.

Haji Mosa Rasuli said a number of foreign suicide bombers from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are behind the suicide bomb attacks who are looking to disrupt the security situation on the occassion of Eid and independence days.

He said at least 7 suicide bombers including the 3 of them who managed to detonate their explosives had came in this province out of which 3 of them were killed by Afghan police forces.

Mr. Rasuli said the suicide bombers carried out coordinated in three different locations including Tank-e-Til area in the first district of Zaranj city, Zaranj hospital entry gate and Mahkama square.

No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the attacks.
