Afghan family killed following blast in HelmandAfghan intelligence — National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Thursday announced to seized a vehicle laden with explosives in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan.

National Directorate of Security (NDS) following a statement said, militants were looking to transport a vehicle laden with explosives to Lashkargah city of Helmand province in a bid to carry out coordinated suicide attacks.

The statement further added that five suicide vests, five AK-47 rifles and 10 hand grenades were seized from the vehicle.

NDS in it’s statement did not disclose further information if any suspected militant was arrested in connection to the transport of the vehicle in Lashkargah city.

This comes as the National Directorate of Security (NDS) foiled coordinated explosions near United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) compound in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan on Tuesday.

NDS officials said that terrorist groups were looking to carry out coordinated explosions near the UNAMA compound, located in a busy area in Lashkargah city.
