coordinated blasts hit oil tankers in ParwanAccording to reports, several oil tankers have been burnt following coordinated explosions in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan on Monday.

Local government officials in Parwan province said the incident took place late Monday in Charikar city and a huge financial loss has been incurred to the owners of the oil tankers.

Head of the criminal investigation department (CID) in Parwan province, Lotf-ur-Rehman Reshad blamed anti-government armed militant groups behind the incident.

Mr. Reshad did not disclose further information regarding the exact number of oil tankers damaged following the explosion, and there are no reports regarding the casualties so far.

He said a number of shops and nearby houses were also destroyed following the incident. A number of people were killed or injured in a similar incident in Charikar city earlier in July this year.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibilit behind the incident.
