Two contracts were signed for the a 5 megawatts solar power project and a 10 kilometer road construction project which are due to be built in central Ghor province of Afghanistan.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the contracts were signed in the presence of President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and the tribal elders and influential figures of Ghor province.

The statement further added that the contract for the construction of a 10 kilometer road from Feroz Koh to Gardan Diwal was signed in the beginning of the meeting in Char Chinar Palace.

The design work of the 10 kilometer road construction has been completed and will be presented in the meeting of the National Procurement Commission next week, the statement by ARG Palace added.

According to ARG Palace, the contract for the construction of solar power plant was signed between the ministry of energy and water and Shuangdeng Company which would be built with a total cost of 10.8 million US Dollars.

The solar power plant would provide electricity to 20 thousand families and construction work of the project would be completed in twelve months, according to ARG Palace.
