The Taliban Political Commission met at Sapidar Palace to contact Afghan political figures and lay the groundwork for their return.

The Taliban’s deputy spokesman, Inamullah Samangani, tweeted that the meeting was held yesterday, Tuesday, 10th May, and was presided over by Maulvi Abdul Kabir at Sapidar Palace.

Members of the commission met with Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Taliban’s acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mullah Khairullah, the Taliban’s acting Information and Culture Minister, Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Taliban’s Director General of Intelligence Agency, and Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar and Anas Haqqani, Taliban’s Acting Minister of Interior Affairs.

Other topics were not mentioned in the conference, according to Enamullah Samangani, who stated that “political issues, particularly interaction with Afghan figures and laying the road for their return,” were discussed.
