Collision of two trains in Czech Republic claims four lives

The Czech Republic authorities have announced that a collision between a passenger train and a freight train in the country has resulted in four deaths and 23 others injured.

According to reports from the Associated Press quoting Vit Rakusan, the Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic, the traffic incident occurred on Wednesday, June 5th, in Pardubice, a hundred kilometers east of Prague.

Reports indicate that the passenger train had over 300 passengers, many of whom were foreigners. It was supposed to travel from Slovakia to the city of Chop in Ukraine.

Furthermore, Martin Kupka, the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, emphasized that one of the most important railway lines between Prague and the eastern part of the country has been suspended following this incident.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, and the injured have been transferred to hospitals for treatment.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala has termed this incident a major tragedy and expressed sympathy to the families of the victims.
