According to local authorities in western Herat province of Afghanistan, at least nine people including three civilians were killed following miliants attack on a security check post in this province.
The officials further added, the incident took place in Obe district on Monday after a group of militants attacked a security check post of the Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces.
Obe district police chief Gen. Shir Agha Alokozai confirming the report said at least three ALP forces and four militants were killed during the clashes.
Gen. Alokozai further added that several militants were also injured during the clashes which took place early Monday morning.
Taliban group claimed responsibility behind the incident. A spokesman for the Taliban group, Qari Yosuf Ahmadi said several Afghan police officers were killed or injured during the attack.
