According to local authorities in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, at least 10 Afghan national army soldiers were killed following clashes among themselves in this province.

The officials further added at least four soldiers were also injured during the clashes.

Provincial governor spokesman Daud Ahmadi confirming the report said at least five Afghan national army soldiers managed to flee from the check post.

He said the soldiers had connections with the Taliban group who fled from the check post after killing their comrades following a conspiracy.

Daud Ahmadi also said the check post was closed following the death of 10 soldiers and four others who were wounded.

Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the incident.
