According to local authorities in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan, at least 3 Afghan security forces including 2 border protection police forces and 1 Afghan national police officer were killed following clashes among themselsves in this province.
Zazai Maidan district chief Mohammad Younis confirmed the report and said the incident took place late Friday evening however he said there were no further reports regarding the clashes.
In the meantime a local security official said the incident took place due to personal issues where 3 security forces were killed and one other was injured.
The source further added clashes among the cousins started following a quarrel between the kids of the involved families in the fight.
He also said at least five people involved in the fight managed to flee the area after opening fire and Afghan security forces are chasing to arrest them.
On the other hand Taliban group spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said a Taliban fighter opened fire on Afghan police forces, killing three police service members.
He said the assailant is currently with the Taliban fighters.
Zazai Maidan district has recently been renamed to Sul district which is considered to be one of the relatively peaceful area in eastern Khost province.
