A clash broke out between police forces and armed robbers in western Herat province which left at least three armed robbers dead or wounded, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

According to a statement released by MoI, the clash broke out in Herat city on Wednesday afternoon after the armed robbers snatched the vehicle of one of the residents of the city in the 6th district.

The statement further added that the police forces killed two armed robbers during the clash and wounded another armed robber

The police forces also confiscated an Ak-47 assault rifle, a pistol and two vehicles which the gang the had earlier robbed, the interior ministry added in its statement.

Criminal incidents involving armed robberies are on the rise in the key cities of the country which mainly have links with the growing activities of the armed gangs and poverty.
