At least five people including armed robbers and policemen were killed or wounded during an armed clash between the two sides in Kabul city.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said the clash between the armed robbers and the police forces has taken place in the vicinity of the 15th police district of the city.
The source further added that a group of armed robbers engaged the police forces during an operation at around 2:30 pm local time on Saturday.
According to the Criminal Investigation Department, one of the armed robbers was killed during the encounter while two others were wounded.
The Criminal Investigation Department also added that two policemen also sustained injuries during the clash with the armed robbers.
According to the security sources, the armed robbers were engaged in various armed robberies in key parts of Kabul city.
The Afghan police forces also confiscated various types of weapons and a vehicle at the end of the clash with the armed robbers, the Criminal Investigation Department said.
The source also added that ten members of the same gang were arrested during an operation in Kabul city a while ago.
