People in the Sabari district of Khost province on Sunday claimed that government-backed military operations inflicted casualties to many civilians.

The operation was reportedly conducted two nights ago by the government-supported forces in the district, Tolonews reported.

According to the media outlet at least 17 civilians including women and children were killed during the operation.

In a released statement, the Taliban blamed the government forces to have launched operations on several residential houses, the operation was also backed by government air forces in which many civilians were reportedly killed.

So far, government security officials have not commented on the missions conducted in Khost province.
