Two people were killed and 11 others were injured when a Mercedes-Benz O404 passenger bus collided with a roadside mine in the Zawul district of Herat province last night.

Jilani Farhad, the spokesman for Herat governor, told Khaama Press that all the injured were male civilians.

He called the condition of the injured in the incident satisfactory, adding that all the injured have now been taken to the Herat District Hospital.

The Kabul-Herat highway is one of the busiest routes in the country, it is most evident to such bloodstained security incidents.

In a similar incident this morning, A roadside bomb blast that hit a passenger bus in Gereshk district of Helmand province, leaving five civilians dead and nine others wounded, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
