The second Hongqiao international economic and trade forum kicked off by Xi Jinping, China’s president on November 5th in Shanghai with a message to welcome foreign investments and free-trade principals.
Mr. Xi, during the inaugural ceremony said he endorses free-trade principles and will welcome foreign investments in China.
He also said that China would maintain its long-running program of economic reform and opening up.
China will open its doors only wider to the world and will adhere to the fundamental state policy of opening up, he added.
More than 50 guests including leaders from the global top 500 companies will be the guest speakers at the forum, giving advice for the development of the world economy in a new era, said Chen Chao, deputy director of the ministry’s Department of International Trade and Economic Affairs.
This comes as that China with 13.6 trillion dollars is the second largest economy of the world after the United Sates.
China has dramatically improved its economy in the last 70 years focusing on economic development, poverty reduction and investing in the infrastructural projects.
