vlcsnap-2015-01-15-11h20m39s31The Afghan intelligence operatives foiled a car bombing plot and rocket attack on Kabul city, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said Thursday.

A statement by NDS said a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) which was prepared for a car bombing in Kabul city, was discovered and seized from Chak district of Wardak province.

The statement further added that a suspected militant was also arrested in connection to the bombing plot.

In a separate operation, the Afghan intelligence operatives discovered and seized 10 BM-1 rockets from Khak-e-Jabar district of Kabul province.

According to NDS, the terrorist groups were looking to launch the rockets on Kabul city.

The Afghan intelligence operatives also confiscated an explosives cache from Deh Sabz district of Kabul province which consisted of 20 boxes of anti-aircraft gun ammunition, NDS added.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
