A foreigner hailing from United Kingdom was among at least ten people killed in a coordinated attack in Kabul city late on Wednesday evening.

The deputy interior ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi confirms that a British national was among ten people killed in the attack and at least 27 others sustained injuries.

Rahimi further added at least 15 foreigners are also among those wounded in last evening’s attack.

The security officials are saying that a group of militants initially detonated a vehicle packed with explosives near the G4S security firm compound in the 9th police district of the city.

The officials further added that four militants entered the firm’s compound and clashed with the security forces for at least ten hours before they were gunned down.

The Taliban militants group claimed responsibility behind the attack with the group’s spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claiming that dozens of foreigners and security personnel were killed or wounded in the attack.
