Nangarhar-PHQTwo people lost lives in an explosion close to Jalalabad city on Saturday afternoon.

Ahmadzia Abdulzai, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province said that the blast took place near a security check post in Du Saraka area of Surkh Rod District around 04:30 pm.

He said the blast left two people killed and three others wounded.

Abdulzai added that those killed include a traffic police officer and a civilian and the wounded comprised of a policeman and two civilians.

Type of the explosion was not identified by the time this report was filed.

This comes day after a wave of deadly terrorist attacks that left 50 people killed and around 430 wounded in capital Kabul.
