An improvised explosive device went off among Taliban militants in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan which critically wounded a number of Taliban mine planters.

The 201st Silab Corps said in a statement that a group of Taliban mine planters were transporting an improvised explosive device to plant it on Alingar highway.

The statement further added that the bomb went off prematurely before the Taliban mine planters manage to reach to the intended area.

Furthermore, the 201st Silab Corps said the explosion critically wounded 3 Taliban mine planters.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
