Blast targets Buzkashi game in Baghlan, at least 20 injured

An explosion targeted a Buzkashi game in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan on Tuesday afternoon, leaving at least 20 people injured.

The incident took place in Baghlan-e-Markazi district after a magnetic bomb planted in a vehicle was detonated, local security officials said.

The officials further added that three children and two policemen were among those injured following the blast.

The incident took place while the local residents had gathered to watch the game, the officials said, adding that five people are in critical condition.

No group includig the Taliab militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

Baghlan is among the relatively peaceufl provinces in nothern Afghaistan. However, the anti-government armed militant groups have recently increased to their insurgency activities in a number of its remote districts.
