Nangarhar airbase attacked by TalibanAt least three service members of the Afghan national police forces were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

Local government officials in Nangarhar said, the incident took place early Saturday morning in Batikut district.

Nematullah Noorzai, district chief for Batikut, confirming the report said the police officers were killed around 7am local time, while they were patrolling in area which was under the control of the Taliban militants.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incidnet.

Local officials blame Taliban group for the incident, as Taliban fighters frequently use improvised explosive device (IED), as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan security forces.
