Local sources in Balkh province say two people were injured when a magnetic mine exploded in the Hairatan Town.
Officials report, the incident occurred around 9:30 am Wednesday morning.
Munir Ahmad Farhad, the spokesman for the governor of Balkh, confirmed to Khaama Press that two people were wounded in the explosion of a magnetic mine planted in a carton (box) near the Hairatan border town.
According to Mr. Farhad, one of the injured in this incident was an employee of the municipality of Hairatan town and the other was a passerby whose condition is reported to be serious.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.
