SnowFour members of the same family have been killed in avalanche fall in central Bamyan Province.

General Khodayar Qudsi, Provincial Police Chief of Bamayan says that the tragic incident took place in Joy Shang village of Yakawlang District last night.

He said that the ones killed were a husband, his wife, their son and daughter.

Since past few weeks it has been snowing and raining heavy in parts of Afghanistan.

On the night of 21-22 February 12 people died in an avalanche fall in northeastern Badakhshan Province.

Due to heavy snowfall dozens of houses were destroyed in Raghistan and Yawan Districts of Badakhshan Province.

Two other persons were also wounded in the incident that happened in Raghistan District.

Heavy snow fall and rain have also blocked few highways that connects provinces with the capital Kabul.

Due heavy rain, a rock from a mountain located on the edge of Kabul-Jalalabad highway in Daronta area has blocked the highway for traffic.

The Salang highway which connects the north and northeastern Afghanistan with the capital Kabul has been blocked due to heavy snow fall.
