Officials in the Office of the National Security Adviser said Mr. Atamar will hold talks with the provincial officials to assess and discuss the Kot incident and ISIS threat to Nangarhar.
The loyalists of the terror group launched a major attack on police check posts in Kot district in the early hours of Friday morning which lasted for at least two days although the operations are still underway in this district.
The security officials saying nearly 200 loyalists of the terror group have been killed and scores of others have been wounded since the Afghan forces launched counter attacks on Friday.
The provincial governor said Sunday that 131 ISIS loyalists were killed during the first two days of the clashes along with 12 security personnel.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense said 27 militants were killed on Monday and over 40 others were killed during the operations on Tuesday.
