The acting provincial governor of northern Balkh province has once against started a lobby to reject allegations of nepotism in the leadership of northern Balkh province.
Noor issued an online statement earlier tonight rejecting the allegations which comes after days of massive protests which were triggered following the removal of Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum’s portraits from Mazar-e-Shari city, the provincial capital of Balkh province.
Noor released a photo which purportedly shows formation of the provincial leadership of Balkh province, comprising of shares of administration between different ethnic groups.
Other photographs purportedly showing the composition of leadership in Jawzjan and Faryab were also posted online by Noor which shows that the majority of the provincial leadership are in custody of Uzbeks, although the authenticity of the pictures could not be verified.
The latest lobby by Noor comes shortly after reports emerged from northern Faryab province suggesting the tensions among the the two prominent leaders have been resolved.
Noor is also leading the prominent Jamiat-e-Islami party while Vice President General Dostum is leading Junbish-e-Milli party.
The protests triggered by the removal of Gen. Dostum’s portraits from Mazar-e-Sharif city turned violent in its final stage, leaving one dead and at least five others wounded.
