Provincial Public Health Chief Habibullah Rustaqi said the students were poisoned on Tuesday morning and were taken to Taliqan hospital.
Mr. Rustaqi further added a number of students were in a critical condition and the main reason behind the poisoning was unclear.
This is the third time female students are poisoned in north-eastern Takhar province. At least 40 girls’ students were poisoned at Bibi Hajra High school on Sunday while dozens of other girls were poisoned in another school last Wednesday.
Students poisoning have been taking place in a number of schools during the recent years however the main reason behind the incident is still unclear.
Afghan Public Health officials also said they have not achieved any satisfactory results after testing the blood of the students.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the poisoning yet.
